TJ Woodward

MK2-109.jpg

Owner & Lead instructor

TJ  has 20+ years of coaching experience, with the majority of that time being spent at the Bantam AAA and Midget AAA levels. He has also spent time scouting for various teams in the Western Hockey League (WHL).

TJ played high-level rep hockey through minor hockey and had a successful Junior career in Alberta. TJ rounded out his playing career by playing three years of Senior AAA hockey and then made the choice to hang up his playing skates and transition to coaching.

TJ's passion for the game is like no other, whether it is a group of 13 to 18 year-olds or a group of 4 to 9 year-olds; his passion and his ability to teach it the right way is immediately noticed. You will consistently see TJ providing in the moment feedback to players as they work through drills on the ice as he believes this is imperative to their development.

TJ is very knowledgable when it comes to the X’s & O’s of hockey, but what separates him from so many others, is the bond he is able to create and foster with the players he is coaching.  When it comes to the development of young hockey players, TJ considers himself a teacher first and a coach second. TJ and M2K Hockey believe gaining a player’s trust is the most important factor when teaching young kids the game of hockey. Only with trust can we facilitate a full learning experience which includes not only growing as hockey players - but as young people, too.

TJ's education and his experience as both player and coach help set M2K apart from others.  Your player will be challenged and supported in their growth and development as young hockey players.
